Accommodation for translators and writers in Stockholm

Foreign translators and writers are welcome at the Writers’ House Guest Rooms at Drottninggatan 88C in Stockholm to work, visit publishers or libraries, or simply spend a few days in the capital going to theatres and museums. Many Swedish writers and translators stay here as well, but guests from abroad have priority.
The Writers’ House provides four single rooms in the very centre of Stockholm (a double room can be arranged upon special request). The rooms are furnished with a standard bed, a small desk and an office chair. Guests share a bathroom with shower and WC, as well a separate WC. Two residencies for literary translators available in Rarogne, Switzerland (Deadline: 31 May 2016)

The Cultural Department of the Canton of Valais in Switzerland has two residencies available in Rarogne for professional literary translators from Switzerland or elsewhere. During the residency the translator will work on a literary text written by an author from Valais or the Alpine arc, or a text that is related thematically to the Alps. The original text or translation has to be written in one of Switzerland’s four national languages. During their three-month stay, either in the period April-June or October-December 2017, the beneficiaries will each receive a grant of 1500 Swiss Francs per month. […]
Tenth anniversary of Translation House Looren marked with literature and music

Since 2005, Translation House Looren in Switzerland has been hosting literary translators, organising workshops in literary translation, and providing readings for the general public.
To mark its 10th anniversary, actors Claudia Carigiet and Jürg Kienberger have created a multilingual literary and musical program entitled Teufelsbrücken (‘Devil’s Bridges’). The programme will have its premiere on 5 September in Looren, and will then tour Switzerland until 17 December 2015. […]
