Under the title ‘Translate books – build bridges’ the Goethe Institute (http://www NULL.goethe NULL.de/kue/lit/prj/ust/deindex NULL.htm), in co-operation with the Alfred Toepfer Stiftung F.V.S. (http://www NULL.toepfer-fvs NULL.de/) and the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony (http://www NULL.kdfs NULL.de/) is offering a working grant in Germany to translators of German fiction. Four scholarships in Dresden (Grant holders’ House of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony) and one grant in Siggen (Seminar Centre, Siggen Manor (http://toepfer-stiftung NULL.de/seminarzentrum-gut-siggen/)) are on offer. The aim of the stay is to devote yourself to working on a current project from the area of German-speaking fiction in a peaceful, focussed atmosphere. The deadline for applications is 1 March, 2011.
