On April 23, World Book Day, CEATL launched a Picture Contest ‘The Face of Translation’ to make literary translators more visible.

Amateur visual artists were called on to create sparky and clever pictures reflecting the existence and importance of literary translations and translators, their challenges and their role in literature. Any technique from photography, drawing, printmaking and painting could be used and the competition welcomed all themes related to literary translation.

CEATL has now posted all the contest pictures to this open Facebook album (https://www NULL.facebook NULL.com/media/set/?set=a NULL.793322857436611 NULL.1073741829 NULL.241846172584285&type=1&l=34d7282e31), where you can vote for up to five of your favourites by ‘liking’ them.

The CEATL jury will consider the five pictures that collect the most likes by 29 May 2016, and will choose a winner from among them.

Vote for your favourite picture and help the artist win a €200 voucher for dinner and books!

The winning picture will also be chosen as CEATL’s e-card to celebrate International Translation Day on 30 September 2016.
