From 28 to 30 September, the University of Urbino and San Pellegrino University Foundation will organise the 10th edition of the Literary Translation Days in Urbino, Italy. The event, which takes place under the auspices of the Ministry for Cultural Assets and Activities, the Libraries of Rome and the municipality of Urbino, is directed by Stefano Arduini and Ilide Carmignani.
Translators, publishers, writers and scholars will take part in seminars and debates to analyse the issues and horizons of the profession of literary translators. This year’s special guest will be Bart Vonck of PETRA – European Platform for Literary Translation.
The conference will discuss the significant changes taking place in the publishing industry following the arrival of digital technology, the economy of the profession, translation and multilingualism from a European perspective (Gian Arturo Ferrari – Centro per il Libro) and translation in twentieth century Italian literature (Renata Colorni). Many seminars will offer the possibility to share the experience of distinguished translators and other leading figures of the publishing industry.
