6th edition of Italian survey on translators’ rates launched

The sixth edition of Biblit, a survey about rates paid to translators, has just been launched. Biblit stands for an informal network of literary translators working into or from Italian.

This time the questionnaire will be more thorough, trying to take into consideration the many different factors that contribute to determining translators’ negotiating power. The survey is open to all translators who in 2011 signed one or more book translation contracts (according to the Italian “regime di diritto d’autore”) with Italian publishers (or translation agencies, public institutions, private employers, etc.). Since translations from Italian into other languages are also taken into consideration, the target language doesn’t have to be Italian.

For more information about the survey, please see the website (http://www NULL.biblit NULL.it/).
