Czech translators start a series of discussions on developments in book market
15 Mar, 2018

Hosted by Vaclav Havel Library (http://www NULL.vaclavhavel-library NULL.org/en/index/news), the series ‘Lost in Translation’ is a chance for translators, editors and other representatives of publishing houses, big and small, as well as  publishers owned by large media groups, to exchange their experiences, expectations, complaints and grievances, and to comment on the situation in  the choked book market from their respective points of view.

So far two evenings were organised in which publishing and promotion of first-class translations of quality literature from various parts of the world were discussed. Both evenings attracted large audiences, translators as well as publishers. This proves that there is interest in looking for common ground and mutually acceptable solutions.

Other stakeholders, such as distributors, booksellers, or representatives of the Ministry of Culture and other institutions will be invited throughout the course so that all aspects of the book chain can be taken into account.
