The Hungarian Association (http://www NULL.muforditok NULL.hu/) of Literary Translators is hosting its annual vocational weekend on 20-22 May 2016, in scenic Dobogókő, a popular hilltop tourist resort, 50 kilometers from Budapest. This literary translators’ weekend has been going for seven years, and brings together professionals and amateurs, beginners and veterans, and all who are interested in learning the secrets of the literary translator’s trade.

Featured topics in this year’s programme include professional issues in the translation of children’s literature, the reception of Romanian literature in Hungary, Hungarian authors and their non-Hungarian translators, one-on-one sessions, and the challenges of translating discursive prose. Non-professional activities will include games, walks and a concert.

The event will be held in Hungarian. Applications can be emailed to kriszt.magdolna@t-online.hu (kriszt NULL.magdolna null@null t-online NULL.hu) ; a contribution of 24,000 HUF (€76) will cover hotel lodging with full board, as well as the professional programme.
