Literary Translation residencies in Montenegro and the UK

Two residency opportunities for translators are now open for applications through RECIT (Réseau Européen des Centres Internationaux des Traducteurs littéraires) as part of the Translation in Motion project (https://www NULL.re-cit NULL.org/about-translation-in-motion/). The Translation in Motion project (1/2/21-31/8/23) is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

The National Centre for Writing, Norwich, UK

The residency is offered by the National Centre for Writing as part of the Translation in Motion project. The Centre is offering a month-long residency in Norwich, UK in May 2023 to one or two literary translators working from English into the languages of the countries of the Western Balkans – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. These residencies are open to UK and EU translators. The Centre is particularly keen to welcome translators interested in translating contemporary British writing.

Deadline for applications is Monday 9th January 2023.

Otvoreni Kulturni Forum, Cetinje, Montenegro

The residency is offered by Otvoreni Kulturni Forum, Cetinje as part of the Translation in Motion project. The duration of the residency in Cetinje, Montenegro is one month and should be carried out no later than July 2023. Eligible translators can be citizens of any EU country.

Deadline for applications is Friday 20th January 2023.
