The Prix de la Traduction littéraire de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles 2011 has been awarded to Stefania Ricciardi for her translations into Italian of Francophone Belgian authors including Francis Dannemark, Caroline Lamarche, François Emmanuel, Willy Deweert, Bernard Quiriny and François Weyergans. The author of academic publications devoted to literature, Stefania Ricciardi organised, in Rome in April 2011, a conference on the translation and reception in Italy of Francophone Belgian authors.

Worth 5000 euros, the Prix de la Traduction littéraire de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles is awarded by the administrative council of the European College of Literary Translators Seneffe (http://users NULL.skynet NULL.be/sky80640/) (a member of the RECIT (http://www NULL.re-cit NULL.eu/) network, chiefly concerned with the promotion of the translation of Francophone Belgian literature), presided over by Jacques De Decker. The prize was officially awarded on 26 August during the closing session of the 15th conference of the College, devoted to the discussion ‘Le traducteur cannibale?’ (‘The translator as cannibal?’), with Claro and Pierre Assouline.
