Seminar ‘Teaching literary translation?’ (Rome, 22-23 October 2012)

During a recent congress organized by PETRA (http://www NULL.petra2011 NULL.eu) (Plateforme Européenne pour la Traduction Littéraire) and the working group for training and education within CEATL, the importance of literary translators’ training was highlighted.

The seminar ‘Teaching literary translation?’, launched by the Italian contact group with PETRA and coordinated by Strade, in cooperation with Casa delle traduzioni and ‘Sapienza’ University of Rome, aims to opening a debate on the subject, discussing the current situation both within and outside the academic world in a national context, but also taking into account the different experiences in other European countries. During the event the recommendations set out by PETRA will be illustrated.

The seminar is open to translators, educators, students, all those who work in the publishing sector and/or are interested in the status and the training of literary translators.
