The Bulgarian Next Page Foundation has published the results of a study on literary translations from Bulgarian after 1989. The study, Translation and Transfer. Bulgarian Literature in Translation (1989-2010): Dates, Observations and Recommendations, can be found on the Next Page website (http://www NULL.npage NULL.org/article226 NULL.html), a summary in English will soon be available. The study is based on a bibliography (http://www NULL.npage NULL.org/IMG/pdf/BiblioFINAL_updatedJune2011 NULL.pdf) of translations of Bulgarian literature published since 1989, and on numerous interviews with translators, publishing companies and institutions.
Georgi Gospodinov and his translators at the Strasbourg Conference
The European Conference on Literary Translation opened on 2 October 2024 with a literary evening featuring the Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov and his translators: Magdalena Pytlak (Polish), Milena Selimi (Albanian), Angela Rodel (English) – co-winner of the Booker Prize International – Marie Vrinat-Nikolov (French) and María Vútova (Spanish).
