The 19th Festivaletteratura, Italy’s most important literary festival, will be held from 9 to 13 September in Mantova (Mantua). As usual, this year’s programme features two translation slams.

The first slam on Thursday 10 September at 5.30 pm (event no. 45) will see Fabio Genovesi, author of Chi manda le onde, winner of the Strega Giovani Prize 2015, discuss with Isobel Butters and Shaun Whiteside their respective translations into English of a short chapter of his latest book.

In the second slam, on Saturday 12 September at 9.00 pm (event no. 203), translators Grazia Loria and Andrea Di Gregorio will join the writer Petros Markaris in analysing their respective translations from Greek into Italian of two of his poems.
