Irish Mentorships for German translators
Irish Mentorships for German translators
17 Dec, 2022

Literature Ireland (http://www NULL.literatureireland NULL.com/)  is the national agency in Ireland for the promotion of Irish literature abroad.

To foster a new generation of German-language literary translators who wish to acquire expertise in Irish literature and culture, we are pleased to announce two funded mentorships. These are being offered to early career literary translators working from English to German.

The mentorships will be conducted over a period of three months: a Spring session, February to April 2023, and an Autumn session, August to October 2023. Each will comprise six sessions of intensive collaboration, advice and support. The well-known Dublin- and Berlin-based translator Hans-Christian Oeser will be the mentor, giving guidance and feedback. Given possible geographical distances and potential constraints, the sessions will most likely be a combination of virtual and face-to-face meetings.

Deadline for applications is Thursday, 19 January 2023
