The Goethe Institute’s European Translators’ Residency Programme, organised in cooperation with the Alfred Töpfer Foundaton F.V.S and the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony, offers six working grants for professional literary translators from abroad.

The six grants include a 6-8 week stay in suitable accommodation either in Dresden-Hellerau, or in Gut Siggen on the Baltic Sea. Travel expenses will be covered; in addition each translator is entitled to a purse of 1,500 euro.

The purpose of the grants is to offer translators the opportunity to concentrate on a translation in the field of German fiction in a quiet atmosphere.

The deadline for applications is 10 January 2014.
