80 speakers from 28 countries, 5 roud-table panels, 7 workshops and various presentations: this one-of-a-kind event brought together for the first time all parties involved in literary translation: translators, writers, publishers, booksellers, librarians, training establishments, residencies, book festivals and fairs, and all the organisations supporting literary translation in Europe.
CEATL at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair
CEATL is delighted to be at the Bologna Children’s Bookfair (BCBF) Translator’ Café with two round tables with different stakeholders of the book chain. CEATL’s collaboration with the BCBF started in 2020 and was made official with a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2022.

Georgi Gospodinov and his translators at the Strasbourg Conference
The European Conference on Literary Translation opened on 2 October 2024 with a literary evening featuring the Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov and his translators: Magdalena Pytlak (Polish), Milena Selimi (Albanian), Angela Rodel (English) – co-winner of the Booker Prize International – Marie Vrinat-Nikolov (French) and María Vútova (Spanish).

CEATL’s Annual General Meeting in Reykjavík
CEATL held its Annual General Meeting in the Icelandic capital from 25th to 27th April under a clear blue sky. The AGM is always an eagerly-awaited occasion for an association like ours, whose members are scattered across Europe. Each year provides an opportunity to explore the home base of one of our member associations and to familiarise ourselves with the local publishing sector.
