The Icelandic Literature Center (Miðstöð íslenskra bókmennta) has a fund available to foreign publishers wishing to publish a work translated from Icelandic. Applications for support can only be made after the applicant has acquired the rights to the work and signed a contract with the translator. The Icelandic Literature Center cannot grant support to a translation published before the deadline for which the application is submitted. The aim of the fund is to promote Icelandic literature abroad. Translating Books – Building Bridges: Six grants for literary translators from German (Application deadline: 15 February 2016)

The European Translators Residence Programme of the German Goethe Institut, in cooperation with the Alfred Töpfer Foundation and the Saxonian Culture Foundation, is offering a working grant in Germany for professional translators of fiction or lyric poetry living in foreign countries.

To qualify, applicants are required to have completed and published two translations of major volumes, and to have a signed publisher’s contract for the translation which the applicant wishes to work on during her/his stay. […]
