International Translation Day in Mons, cultural capital of Europe 2015

In 1991 FIT (http://www NULL.fit-ift NULL.org/) launched the idea of an officially recognised International Translation Day so that the worldwide translation community could show solidarity in promoting the translation profession in different countries. International Translation Day is celebrated every year on 30 September – the feast of St. Jerome, the Bible translator who is considered the patron saint of translators.

CEATL welcomes new member associations from Belgium, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Norway

Four new member associations have joined CEATL at the Prague AGM on 12 May, 2011:

  • Association des Traducteurs Littéraires de Belgique (ATLB)
  • Bulgarian Translators’ Union (Съюз на преводачите в България (http://www NULL.bgtranslators NULL.org/), BTU)
  • Association of Translators and Interpreters in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Udruženje prevodilaca u Bosni i Hercegovini (http://www NULL.upbh NULL.ba/), UPBH)
  • Norwegian Non-Fiction Writers and Translators Association (Norsk faglitterær forfatter- og oversetterforening (http://www NULL.nffo NULL.no/), NFF)

We now have 32 member associations from 26 countries.

European Residence Programme for Writers and Literary Translators Sarajevo 2011-2012

The Traduki literary network, in cooperation with the Sarajevo Open Centre, will initiate the two-year European Residence Programme for Writers and Literary Translators in May 2011. Writers and literary translators from Albania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Romania and Serbia are invited to submit their applications no later than March 15, 2011.
